almost one of the worst mornings in the history of bad mornings. if we aren't out of the house by 10 or 11 two days in a row, i pretty much expect it. i guess i just didn't bank on both kids screaming (setting each other off that is) for more than a couple hours. and then my new baby (the lens one) came right in the middle of my other new baby (the human one) finally falling asleep on my lap after an all morning struggle. {which means the intercom rings REALLY loud}. she may be an amazing 12-hour-a-night sleeper, but naps, my friend, is a completely different story.
i hate those days when you look back and think, "wow. i was kind of a scary mom today. how many times did i yell? how many times did i squeeze my fists and grit my teeth and count to ten? did i really survive on a single stick of string cheese because i was too busy trying to keep everyone else happy? how many time-outs did we end up having?" yep, that was me today.
at least at the end of it, we took advantage of the beautiful day outside with some friends, tried a new recipe for dinner, and have this little baby to finally look forward to playing with.
(oh, and the fact that little people can turn around and forgive you so quickly because you are still "mommy" and they need you. i love that)
and you can guarantee i'm playing. i'll see you when i see you.

Cue drama. This age must be driven by some crazy brain impulses. Toddlers are by far the most stubborn group of people I've ever met.

I'm very familiar with those days. I've had my share. Thank goodness children forgive and have relatively short memories.
