at the beginning of may my best friend from high school, emily, was in town with her husband ty. i love how easy it is to pick up with people you grew up with. even if you are different people now, and are in different places in your lives, they are still your people.
the girls and i took a little stroll through boston common and the public gardens before we met up with them. it was a beautiful day (and our last day downtown, tear).

we walked (or hiked for me, with the double stroller) up through beacon hill and back down to the carousel in the commons. em took sophie for a little ride, and they became best friends.
we thought it was funny that i hadn't seen her in 3 years, and the month i was moving back to oregon she finally made it to boston!
once we were back in the parking garage loading up the car, sophie said, "mom, i like emily. she's my friend."
it's so nice to have friends wherever you go. Ü
