i can't believe it's august. i feel like august is one of those weird, bittersweet months. you're sad the summer is coming to an end, but you're kinda sick of the muggy heat. and if you're like me, you're always excited for the crispness of fall to come. it's the month you forget your dad's birthday every year (sorry dad, not skimming by this time). it's the month school starts for most kids, except kids in oregon, so it's still a pure "summer" month. you're slightly sick of wearing the same pair of shorts everyday, but know you'll be wearing your snow boots for far longer.
but don't worry. we're holding out on summer as long as we can. and for us, the epitome of summer is ice cream. actually, i think for landen, the epitome of living is ice cream, but that's why we love him. now the girls fully expect some form of ice cream every time we leave the park.
and if you can see them... we've got pigs. in a family of girls, this is a very big deal.
this girl's got so much energy i don't know what to do with. we love it.
and poor soph's got a 102 fever for the second day, so we might be kickin' it at the dr.'s. it would be our 4th dr.'s appointment in a week so we're kind of getting good at it. yuck.

i'm not a fan of august either, which is funny considering mine and carter's birthdays are both in august. but living in vegas, when august rolls around, you're pretty much sick of the 100+ degree days. i loooove autumn and am so looking forward to the cooldown. hopefully i'll be feeling better too so i can actually go out and enjoy the change in seasons. of course, i'd love to actually get a REAL fall, like you bostonians ;)
