we had a relaxing fourth of july with my mom and landen's sister krissi and her little fam. they just moved to ct for residency and we are so excited to have them within a couple hours of us!
we tried to get a picture of the cute little patriotic cousins, but this is about as good as it gets with a camera-hating-screaming 2 year old, a 6 month old that is still learning how to balance, and a 3 week old that the 2 year old doesn't want to hold. there ya go.
and the saddest kiss in the world. {notice the sucker used for bribery}
we did a little cookie decorating...
landen even got in on the action.
aren't they cute? i can't believe i've never attempted royal icing before. definitely doing it again!
this little lady was posing like crazy for me and i was loving it!
after a yummy lunch we had a little beach time
with some serious rock throwing

em stuck her toes in the ocean for the first time... brrr!
we were glad they smuggled sparklers over the border since you can't buy fireworks in massachusetts! there's another giant reason not to live here...hehe. no i'm not kidding. what would the fourth be without a little pyromania?

my mom left this morning. sophie cried for her most of the ride home. we are going to miss her so much. i'm really on my own now! wish me luck!

ok, that sparkler pic rocks. i realized that this is the first fourth that our kids actually experienced fireworks a-la-driveway . we couldn't do them in kansas or mass. they loved it. plus we get pioneer day as a bonus. niener niener.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for all the pictures!! Yes, I'm sad sitting all alone in an empty house! Just doesn't feel right...no Sophie baths, reading, "bed", nose, nose, drinks, snacks, bubbles, shows, etc! No Piper, sweet-smelling baby loves... it's gonna be a long couple of months, ugh! I missed you all the moment I stepped into the airport, sad day. Tell Sophie bobo misses her! Loves!
adorable cookies. You mom looks like a wonderful grammie, arent grammies the best? I hope my mom doesnt run out or steam by the time my kids roll around, shes going all out with my sisters kids.
I LOVE all the pics! That photo shoot really was tragic, next time we'll try to not keep sophie up so late :) I'm so glad Dal got to meet Jill. He kept saying things like, "wow, she is just really nice" and "she has a glow about her". It's true, you have a good mama. good luck with the kiddos - you'll do great.

#3...i love sophie's face when she's laying in bed...like it was too bright or something. max's face when it's too bright just kills me because he tries to open his eyes for like 5 minutes and can't...it's hilarious! so, that's what it reminded me of.
