i feel like i've been calling sophie "two" now for quite awhile. we go to the two year old library group, all of her friends are two, and ever since the terrible tantrums started we say, "oh she's just two." but now it's OFFICIAL! she really is TWO and i really can't believe i have a two year old!
this past week is going down in the record books as one of the hardest weeks we've ever had. between the hospital drama, sophie refusing liquids and food, multiple dr. visits, landen and i both getting the 24-hour bug, some crazy intense heartburn (oh my gosh) and now our best friends moving today, it's been a long one. we're physically and emotionally drained, but somehow feel like we're finally on the upside again. maybe that's how birthdays are supposed to make you feel!
we opened presents, said our last goodbyes to the E fam and visited a little bakery for some birthday girl cupcakes. now it's finally nap time and then on to pick up grandma's gift... the birthday girl table and chairs!

one last game of "i love you chase..." and if you were wondering, we'll be mourning the loss of these guys for quite awhile.

she was so excited to pick out her own "white on white" cupcake with sprinkles

and she fully devoured when we got home! (seriously the way to go. i think i'm going to buy cupcakes at a bakery every year.)

and you know landen and i enjoyed ours as well. mine is the german chocolate vision on the right, mmmmm.

we had sophie's actual party last weekend with a bunch of friends at a fun park. soph's little friend abby was also turning two so we combined our parties. poor soph was still sick and we dragged her along, bad idea. she threw up the second we got in the car after 3 hours at the park. i feel like such a bad mom, these pictures break my heart. and sorry if i inadvertently poisoned your children from this one candle blow out. my bad. but thanks to everyone for the fun gifts and company!

and i know you all wanted a pregnant cleavage shot of kristen. now you can see how HUGE my belly is! look at that pitiful birthday sickie face. don't you just wish kids could be like, "hey mom! i'm nauseated and i don't feel good. will you just take me home and let me sleep?"

Oh, I sure hope everyone gets on the up and up soon! Just when we thought we were up, we all caught colds. And we hadn't even gotten over croup yet. :) Ahhhh, life. Happy Birthday, Sophie! We sure are excited for Baby Sister to make her entrance in a few weeks! Hope all goes well!
You're such a cute preggo. I'd like to say that happily, but I'm a little jealous. (too honest?)
I know exactly how you feel about your friends leaving. My favorite fourth year wives have all left/are leaving, and there have been many tears this week. Oh boy.
Anyway, we can't wait to see you guys!! And, I think we can safely say, if things were left up to the husbands, nothing would happen but sitting. So, we'll have to start thinking. :)
Happy Birthday Sophie!! I'm so sorry that you guys had such a rough time :( I couldn't imagine going through that with Hayden! She looks like such a little trooper :)
wow - what a week! but i am glad that sophie had a very happy birthday! i can't believe she's two either. time really flies.
i can't wait to see your new baby girl!! you look so great for being 8 months pregnant...i'm jealous too! don't you just love that pregnancy cleavage :) haha.
Yay! Happy birthday! I also feel your pain about friends moving away right now...not fun.
i remember how cute you looked pregnant with Sophie and you look just as cute with number 2!! Happy Birthday Sophie. :)
happy birthday to your little girl too! i can't believe our kids are that old.
i'm so sorry about sophie getting sick. that sounds like an awful experience.
sniff, sniff...i don't like reading your blog and not being there.
Happy Birthday!!! Kristen, I'm so happy to see your belly picture. Bigger belly, means the babies coming soon.
Happy Birthday Soph! It has to get better from here right?
Poor Soph, I still feel bad when I think about it.
