i honestly don't know how many "parts" these oregon posts are going to have (i hope not more than 3) but there are just so many good times from our trip that i want to remember.
so on with part one...
the first day was my birthday. happy 24 to me! i feel like such a baby out here because i'm officially the youngest of ALL my friends, but when i'm home i feel old again. oldest complex. all of a sudden my sisters are much cuter than me. i'm still supposed to be the stylish one right? i guess when you have dad's money it's easy. ;)
brookie (my youngest sis) had soph poke the candles in the last corner of the cake she made me. can you tell which corner is hers?
i think funfetti will always be my fav. no beautifully decorated fondant cake could ever compare to a 9x13 funfetti cake with funfetti frosting...yum. and green is my favorite color, thanks brookie.
and of course soph had to lick every single candle and then stick them back in, mmmm. i promise i was there, i think probably on my mom's camera!
i got a new sweet backpack for my camera/lenses from my parents that i can't wait to fill up with more lenses! ok someday...
you know my mom had puzzles and books waiting to play with sophie. we just took advantage of all the grandma time we could! and thanks to this puzzle soph is now fully proficient with her alphabet, even the j & k.
i love how you can tell how much my mom adores sophie.
you know how you tend to eat more when you go home? well at my parents' house there is this HUGE pantry always filled to the max with every kind of snack you can think of. not to mention we ate out at all of our favorite restaurants. i have this thing for hostess raspberry filled donuts, which i have not been able to find out here. and only those, i hate all other filled donuts. so when i went home there was a box waiting for me. we definitely had a few "nutritious" breakfasts. i think sophie feels the same way i do.
spaghetti at the spag factory
jamba at the mall, oh how i've been craving this one! genious, i asked them to put some in a kid's cup for soph. she thought she was so important. isn't that the cutest jamba cup you've ever seen!?

it's always good to contemplate the yumminess and happiness a lime sublime can bring to you.
and just to prove i was there having a good time
we actually got a few sunny nice days (sunny days in oregon are amazing) and took full advantage of them.
don't you love the colors!?
sophie and ringo became best buddies. he was better known as "mow mow mow." it's a good thing he's a big fat kitty that takes a lot of torture, because that's exactly what he got.

and we practiced our jumping on the basketball court. i promise this is as far "off the ground" as she gets.

every morning sophie would wake up and tackle every large stuffed animal in the house.

and this last picture is for my brother. we raided his ultimate stash of teenage mutant ninja turtles. sophie was in turtle heaven. and kyle, you would have been proud.
and now i hear someone talking to herself. nap time is officially over. until part two...

Hi Kristen! So fun to find your blog. Your Sophie is so cute, and it's fun to see pictures of your family, too. Can't wait for part 2!
Your first sentence made me laugh. When we were in school, my next door neighbor was from Puerto Rico. She would blast Puerto Rican music so loud I could still hear it in the shower. And she would cook fish every day. Loved her. Ha!
