so i feel like i'm finally doing it. that is... following a few new years resolutions. january 25th and i'm still going strong! ok so it has only been 25 days, and really only like 15 since i actually made the resolutions, but that's like 2 weeks right!?

one of my new goals was to "step away from the computer." i love playing around on the computer and i could seriously spend most of my free time doing it. but what do i get when i'm done? maybe a few pictures edited, but really nothing useful. then i always get bummed that i didn't do more with my time like actually doing the laundry or "making something." so the past two weeks or so i've started lots and lots of projects. and the good news is... i'm finishing them! it feels so good to get my creative juices flowing. i've been organizing and cleaning like mad and have started decorating sophie's room. i'm sure there will be lots of pictures to come! feels so good.

another goal was to actually "cook more meals." i'm a big slacker in this department because i would rather bake all day than cook a dinner. in december my friends and i started our recipe blog and i have to say- we are starting a good little collection of foods! it's totally inspiring me to cook. (making liz's broccoli cheese soup today!) so if you need some good ideas... check it out!

i wish i could say this last picture was because i had a new goal to cut out the sweets... unfortunately i don't know if that one will ever be hitting the resolution list for me. i'm just shocked it's already almost valentine's day again! and that i've been writing on this blog for almost a year (99th post... wow) and i don't even really love to write. i might just have to do something special for the big one year 100th post.

landen's sister krissi and her husband dallen are here this weekend. it's so fun to have family in town! we are crossing our fingers they get into the medical residency in connecticut so we can have them close! oh and please see below. i don't feel like everyone has emailed me their blogger addresses yet! ok back to my projects...
