anniversary

oh man. another month goes by. i'm striking out big on this blogging thing. i've been wanting to document our anniversary for awhile and here it is... merry christmas! only 3 months late. Ü

we had the best weekend out together. thanks to my parents for watching/playing with our girls. on our actual anniversary (thursday... we got married on a thursday so we've made it full swing!) i had a long day with kids. i waited outside on the front porch for landen to come home while the girls ran around in the grass. a few days earlier i thought i had lost my ring but he stole it and surprised me by getting it re-dipped and cleaned up. so sparkly new! he also walked up with a huge bouquet of flowers. he knows how to start things off right.

(notice the bags/leftover smeared make-up/greasy hair all due to LONG day)

(for all you byu floral design students, yep, that's a bird of paradise)

(let's pretend like sophie's undies aren't hanging out in this pic)

so the next night we actually GOT READY, packed our bags and kissed the girls goodbye. we did some shopping downtown and then enjoyed one of the best dinners i've had in a long time at newport bay downtown on the water. salmon. diet coke with lime. raspberry cheesecake. heaven.

(we brought along my mom's trusty point & shoot to document)

we used our marriott points and stayed downtown, which was right next to the restaurant so we got to walk around by the water and enjoy the last nice weekend of the year. seriously. oh and stayed up laughing at lots of random SNL clips on netflix.

the next morning was GORGEOUS. 70's at the end of september, more heaven. we rented some sweet cruiser bikes (the guy talked me into pink... ok he didn't really have to talk me into it) and rode the path along the willamette river.

if you're ever in portland, you seriously have to do this. sooo fun. we crossed over the steel bridge (there's a bike path underneath) and then back over the hawthorne. portland has 12 major bridges... little factoid for ya.

Photobucket
(nice smashed glasses) oh and yes we are always really cool trying to match our outfit colors.

another fun thing is that landen has a free parking pass because he works downtown so we can come and go as we please. after a little walk and some more shopping around pioneer square it was back home to the fam. so nice to catch a little break and celebrate us.

we love you portland! (can you spot the sign?) can't believe that was less than 3 months ago. now we are bundled and wrapping presents.

Soooo glad you guys got some time together, you deserve it. I loved seeing you let loose in your Tom Toms...Loving the no make-up thing on you! Oh and if you ever want your rings cleaned again, have Landen stick them in the autoclave that cleans his instruments at work. You put some of the cleaning solution for the machine in a plastic baggie and pop the rings it in there... sparkly as evah when it comes out! Muah, you're adoreable.
