today my sweet sophie started preschool. three days a week for three hours. and piper and i both agree "we miss our sofas" (sofas = sophie in piper language).

and we can never forget supportive baby sister. once sophie got home she kept saying "i miss my sissah" (she sounds like she's from boston).

it was a success. her favorite part was "lunch and green play-dough". oh and "we watched jesus on tv." (can you tell she's in a lutheran preschool?) Ü

when did this girl get so old and independent? i remember when she hated going to nursery because she couldn't leave my side. now she just marches in to school and waves goodbye (and of course poses for the camera).

landen gave the girls father's blessings last night for the new school year. once sophie had hers piper jumped in the chair and said "my turn!" sophie sat so still and listened to everything he said. i love watching her grow and mature.

10 things about my soph...

1. she's my obedient child. ever since she was born exactly on her due date i've been saying that about her. she always asks permission and constantly wants to make me happy by doing the right thing.

2. she's obsessed with dresses at the moment. and shopping. when we're in stores it's always "is this my size?" "where's my size mom?" "can we take this home with us?" "piper will you wear a dress like me?"

3. she's quite the little mother. i guess being the oldest means you get to be the bossiest too. she's not bossy to other kids, just her little sister. she loves telling piper how to do things.

4. she is constantly telling piper "you're my best friend piper."

5. she hates cheddar cheese anything unless it's in the form of non-melted-shredded. no quesadillas, no grilled cheese, no macaroni, no cheese crackers, no yellow goldfish, no cheese slices. how is she my child?

6. she loves playing pbs kids and can completely start the netbook and get on herself. scary.

7. she's obsessed with letter sounds right now. today she said "mom, piper just said 'HI' like "hhh hhh hhh" (making the "H" sound) "that's an H!"

8. she could spin outside on the swings for days on end if i let her.

9. she always wants a "lay down hug" meaning she squeezes you around the neck and then pushes until she is laying on top of you. i'm pretty sure that's like wrestling for a girl.

10. she has the best memory i've ever seen. she was painting a rainbow the other day and asked me the right order of the colors (because that is totally what matters to her). luckily the watercolor set was in order so i told her to paint from top to bottom. that night at dinner she said "mom i know the rainbow! red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple" straight up. thanks crayola.

Is she going to Beautiful Savior?? Sorry, I saw that you said Lutheran and I thought it might be that one! If it is...that's where my baby siblings Nick and Katie went. I just remember their awesome Christmas pagents they were in! They were so funny and energetic!!!
