we live for sunday naps around here.
(word has it, this guy has a couple big interviews coming up soon. say a little prayer for us. Ü)
oh, what? you don't have an almost four year old little girl running around without her shirt on at your house? i wish i could convey the dramatic attitude and theories this child comes up with. hates clothes. loves clothes. she's hot. now she's cold. it's not green. it doesn't reach her wrists. she can't see her polka dot sock cuffs. it doesn't match her bow. "fan me mom." now she'll just die (insert hand across the brow, fainting) if she has to wear these clothes for one more minute. somedays it's just a battle i choose not to fight. i did make her wear a shirt to the dinner table. Ü
(admiring the "diamond" heart necklace i gave her out of the bottom of my jewelry box)
i've had a hard time implementing chores and charts into our daily routine. it's not that sophie won't do it, it's that i can't usually stick with it. but this is what we've come up with so far, and after 4 weeks we're still going strong.
i needed a picture chart, not just words that she can't read, so that she would know exactly what her job was. once she completes a job, she takes down the picture and puts it in her jar. then she can clearly see what's left to do. at the end of the day, we turn those pictures into pennies, and at the end of the week she gets to "buy" a prize with her pennies from the special "store." mostly composed of dollar aisle prizes that i don't care if we can throw away before the move, but totally motivate her to earn more pennies. *wink* i've definitely had to train myself more than her. a little nudge here and there to get her motivated and we can feel like we completed a few things in our day. not to mention she learns the valuable lesson of work ethic. right!?
so i thought i would share these printouts if you're looking for a new chart to try. i just printed mine on cardstock, laminated them and put velcro on the backs.
{and if you really want, i'd be happy to put your child's name on the top. if they are anything like sophie and love to see their name all over everything they own.)
{just click on "file" in the top left then "download original")
happy job charting!

I was just thinking, I wonder where she got the cute pics and chart, and low and behold you are cool and put the link on there! So grateful!
THANK YOU!!
oh, would you be willing to put Breelynn's name at the top of the chart? She LOVES stuff like that. :)
i love these. i wasted my money on a job chart at the store that ended up being too detailed and too confusing for me and katelyn. this seems so simple, we can actually stick with it. thanks !
PERFECT. you read my mind! i've been looking for a cute, easy job chart. THANKS!! sending this to my friend as well :)
Brilliant. I'll have to do something so I remember it when I need it... in three more years.
