the only word to truly describe how i feel about january.
it's a tough one.
christmas is over, back to the grind, and then the snow dumps.
...and dumps.
...and dumps.
come on boston, give me something to love about you before i leave you forever.
ok, it's not that bad. and i promise we try to make the best of it. like playing in the snow, children's museum, baking, grilling yummy steaks with friends (which may or may not have happened 3 times in one week... not the steaks, just the eating with friends).
best of all. our new friend herbert. he's kept the excitement alive.

our goobers who keep us laughing.

piper at 19 months. wow. i love her little spunk. she is a little firecracker one minute, and the next my snuggle buddy. she repeats ev.ry.thing we say and is obsessed with "bebes" "belle" "mamadada"(she refers to landen and i as one super human parent) "amals" "signing times" and "cheese."

sophie at 3 2/3. wow. i love my little helper. i love the conversations we have and how smart she is. she is my polite charmer, and truly believes she is a princess. everything must be pink and is usually named "mercy." (i don't know where that came from). my favorite conversation with her this past week in the car...
she asked to go get some "fries" on the ride home and i told her, "we don't have a lot of money right now, so we're going to try and be really good and only eat the food we have at home." she replied with, "well, go get some monies from the man so we can eat lotsa fries!" i'd love to meet that man and get my monies.

our "no-man" (piper's words) friend has kept us good company in the cold and the girls checked on him every morning. usually a "see!" from piper at the window.

unfortunately, a few days after herbert joined the family, we got 2 more feet of snow, and he's kind of just a blob on our hill now. our world looks a lot like this these days...

but we have kept ourselves busy. with tea parties.

and just overall cuteness. (can you tell someone finally loves the camera!?)

RIP herbert. we're looking forward to february. Ü

Thank you! Finally! Aren't you glad you won't have snow like that next winter!!! Just rain! Hugs to you all!
I love my little smilers!
Hahaha! I'm a little bit in love with Herbert :) Think you guys are too darling even with cabin fever.
I love that Piper called Herbert "no-man." That's exactly what my nephew (just a little older) says. It's pretty cute.
Hang in there. Hopefully these crazy global weather patterns will calm down a little. (One week in December it was 53 degrees here in northern Utah (not complaining about that). The next day it dropped to 19. What the . . .?)
jill, you took the words right out of my mouth. whenever you are feeling "bleh" just think about where you'll be in just a few months!
you may even miss the snow during those oregon "snow days".
oh we are right there with you! just add the 9 months prego part, Feb will be great!
Mercy?! How could I not have known that? LOL. Too hilariously adorable. I love it. Love, love, love the diaper-bum tea party. Heh. And the baby carrot that makes Herbert's nose. And dinner with friends 3 times in a week. :)
haha, i love that picture of Piper sitting on that tiny chair having tea- it reminds me of the "honey i blew up the kid" movie.
ummm how is it that piper is NINETEEN months old now?? holy cow time has flown. i feel like i missed the last year of her life. you've got two little girls on your hands and not a baby anymore! i'll trade you some snow for a little bit, sound good? ;)
amen to the tea party picture. clever. and adorable!
THAT pic of Pips's little buns on that even littler chair is simply photo genius.
My kiddos are excited to mix it up with your wee ones soon!
can you introduce us to "the man" too??
I really don't miss the winters in Boston! I do miss the good friends though. Hang in there "this to shall pass".
I loved your Christmas projects in your last post too! Hope you are all doing well!
oooops -- more snow!
haha... seriously! i woke up this morning and said "OH MAN!" when i saw the white on my car.
Hmmm. Have you been watching a lot of Full House? I miss Jesse's "Mercy". I feel the same way about Jan. . . actually I kind of keel the bleh's until April when we get our last final blizzard.
