covered bridges galore

back to our regularly scheduled program.

{note: i finished the last of all my family sessions to edit last night, and i kind of feel free. now maybe i can finally get caught up on all the stories i want to tell. phew.}

i know this is a lot of scenery and a ton of pictures, but i {obviously} really loved this little trip we took with my dad. so yes, i'm going to document every detail.

the epitome of fall in new england: take 3. {see part 1 and part 2}.

after our train ride/pumpkin patch, we took a little drive through the white mountains to get to our bed & breakfast destination. unfortunately it rained most of the drive, so the colors were a little muted, but we still thoroughly enjoyed it.

Photobucket

there are covered bridges galore in new hampshire and vermont. i pretty much wanted to stop and walk through all of them. i'm weird like that, totally that person who gets a kick out of every touristy thing possible.

Photobucket

we made it to the B&B just in time to share the rest of our most-amazing-pecan-pie-in-the-world with the very cute, old, talkative owner. i actually got stuck up in the room with the girls while they devoured it downstairs, but they saved me a piece.

i loved the antiques and charm of it all. i didn't know if i would like something like this, but turns out i can't wait for the next B&B!

Photobucket

while the girls slept in our room, we hung out in my dad's room that had two single beds. that meant we got to cozy up and read. {i think i mostly played hearts on my itouch while landen actually did read}.

Photobucket

the next morning we were up and ready to attend church next to the joseph smith birthplace memorial. turns out they had stake conference somewhere else, so we just enjoyed walking around and enjoying the general splendor. {haha... no i don't talk like that, only with a very sarcastic, deep voice. i couldn't help myself.}

Photobucket

oh wow! you mean there's people in my pictures!? it's true. i do catch a human once in awhile.

Photobucket

loverly.

Photobucket

my little puddle jumper. church clothes and all.

Photobucket

aren't those cabbage flowers cool!?

Photobucket

and this is what you get when church is cancelled and your heels just don't cut it. rainboots and a skirt. classy. pretty sure our other kid was too busy enjoying the wide open space that a small apartment in the city does not provide.

Photobucket

does't this look like a paparazzi picture? there he is! with the kids!

Photobucket

it was such a peaceful morning.

Photobucket

landen asked me to take some senior pictures for him. Ü

Photobucket

Photobucket

and then on to the little town of woodstock, vermont where we found another covered bridge.

Photobucket

and this time we walked through.

Photobucket

the other side looked totally different! who knew!? {can you spot little P leaning out?}

Photobucket

sophie was so excited about the bridge she did a little dance to express herself. {ok, she was probably just being a spaz. also reminiscent of a specific picture i have as a kid... mom do you have that?}

Photobucket

piper was also, obviously, excited.

Photobucket

ok i better break again. next is picnic in the park, boston temple, and the old north bridge. what a fun morning!

They're all wonderful pictures, but there's one that stuck out: you and Landen, reading like little bookworms. And what are you reading? Hunger Games. Woot!

Seriously, though, those covered bridges kill me. So very Northeastern. It makes my heart go pitter-pat.

Awww, what wonderful memories. Including walking around Woodstock and having lunch in the park!

I love Soph's dance. I think we better post that old one of you... she is truly your daughter.

Thanks for all the pics... they are great!

Of course I have that picture...classic Kristen! I'm so jealous I wasn't there to enjoy all the fun! Sophie and I would have had a blast in those puddles! :)
