that's the song i have stuck in my head as i write this (also one of sophie's favs). and i now understand the true meaning.
my dad came to town for the weekend (2 weekends ago) and we had a blast driving around new england living up "fall" with him. one of the best things about my dad is that he's always up for everything and anything. if you want it... you got it. i'm pretty sure we did every fall activity that could ever be done in 2 days.
{DISCLAIMER: i had just gotten my new camera and this was the perfect excursion for "playing." plus i had my dad along who is into photography himself. i think my family was a little sick of my paparazzi ways by the end. the camera never left my hands. thanks fam.}

first stop, apple farm/pumpkin patch. we drove up to new hampshire and stopped at the cutest little apple farm. you couldn't actually pick apples anymore (which really breaks my heart) because a wind storm had blown so many down, but you sure could buy them! almost as good. especially when they are of the honeycrisp genre. oh heaven.

there's something about old crates and barrels of things overflowing that just makes life happier.

it was COLD. also the first day we had to use the heavy coats. glad i brought them along. brrr.

this corn reminded me of my mom. she always hung indian corn on our front porch around the lights. festive.

we snuck inside for some treats. oh my. hot fresh cider, cider donuts, apples by the peck, jams, baked goods, soup, fresh pie (we devoured a pecan pie straight out of the oven), it was pretty much heaven in a farm stand. they know what they're doing up there in new hampshire. live free or die is right.

just in case you were confused.

it's a new england thing.

and i'm not really a "hot" cider person... but i was on this day.

can't pass up a photo op.

and the first focused family picture a passerby has taken. i guess i officially love my camera after this. or the lady... either way.

that sums up part one. i'll be back for antiques, train ride, and fall colors soon.

Beautiful pictures. Who knew tiny New Hampshire had so much flavor? And I think I might keep that apple chart picture on file – super useful.
You take such beautiful pictures. The colors are amazing.
