no pressure

no pressure or anything right? i psyched our family out about going to the marathon. we were all prepared to claim our place on heartbreak hill. it was the perfect day to go (not usually a good bet in april, in boston) and do you think it happened? well a picture speaks a thousand words right? i'll let you guess where i took this picture from.

the girls woke up late (yes, we were up late partying) and we kind of rolled around on the living room floor for an hour trying to convince each other to get ready. why do holidays end up being lazy days? i have much greater expectations in life. once landen realized that this year was not our last chance to go (our "last chances" start next month), it was all over. more rolling commenced. and you know i have proof. at least we are smart lazy people.

Photobucket

the original "roller" himself (he's probably going to kill me for posting that one, especially because i still haven't given him that haircut he's been begging me for)
Photobucket

rolling around in the lovesac is the same as rolling around on the floor

and she just has rolls

but wait! there is a happy ending to this story. after watching the marathon on cough*tv*cough for about an hour, it inspired us to start level TWO of our jillian michaels 30 day shred. yikes. then we collapsed and finished watching the marathon. either way, totally inspiring.

we wanted sophie to feel the inspiration, so we took the girls to the park. a new park. a little too crowded for my taste, but it was a really nice park. we will now identify all parts of a park through too many pictures.

the #1 choice at any park:

and just because. i think that is the most pictures i have ever been in. did you get a kristen overload yet?

after naps we finished up the day with some A-MAZING mexican food with our buddies. like i really want every single recipe tamsen. from the salsa to the guac, it was so yummy. she even changed my mind about pina coladas. delish. and a little FHE conducted by their oldest son aiden (who is 5)... it was cute. and of course some super mario wii style with some strawberry shortcake. why do we always eat so much?

there might not have been a lot of up close and personal marathon watching, but we had an excellent patriots day. we have pledged that next year, rain or shine, we'll be there cheering on the runners.

so disappointed. you know that if i was still there you would not have been lazy bums missing the marathon. as trav and i sat all day reminiscing (cause that's what we do) about the last 4 years of marathon watching it gave me some peace knowing you were there representing. thanks a lot!

although with landen's hair looking the way it did, maybe you made a good decision, hehe. happy patriot's day.

you are so cute you need to be in more pictures. your hair is so long! so is mine, it actually caught on fire the other day when I was cooking...ooops. guess I better head to the salon.

I can't believe how long your hair is!!

What do you say to continuing our memorial day weekend trips? it's our last one! I have some ideas if you're intersted... :)

Hello! It's so good to see you! It's been so long I didn't know your hair had gotten that dark. Or that long. Very pretty. You're one of those cute moms I hope to be.

You're hair is SOO longs, I'm jealous. I'm loving all the rolling around. Although, with boys rolling is replaced by wrestling around all day. :)

We had high hopes of making it too. No such luck. Next year gadget, next year.

Ahem... a new park? You know you've missed like a dozen playgroups at that particular park, right? [A "dozen" might be a gross exaggeration but we've had several trips to that park.] But I'm glad you finally got to visit it! It's definitely crowded on holidays and weekends but try it on a cool weekday morning sometime and it's heaven!

I feel the same way about giving haircuts and Ian refuses to go to a barber shop 'cause "they don't do it right." But he won't see my stylist because salons are for girls. At least they do it "right" but I can't complain about the price of an at-home haircut! : )
