i like early

look what showed up at our house a little early yesterday. i got a nice surprise from the ups guy. happy early mothers day to me!

(ps... liz do you want that box? yes this is the first time i've tried to help you move away from us)

i think landen prides himself on trying to find a gift that i DON'T know about. since there are always a hundred things i'm bugging him about or explaining to him, or telling him WHY we NEED this or that. trust me... i know i'm bad. i can come up with a GOOD reason to buy ANYTHING. and i usually think i'm pretty persuasvie too. but maybe he just loves me! i sure love him.
{i think he was also sick of hearing me complain about printing every time i had to hook up my laptop and have vista go off on its serious problems. plus this little baby is WI-FI! finally!}

ok graduation update. soph graduated to a big girl swing and loves it! {you like how i added a little belly profile in there for you? someone needs to tell me to stop slouching...yikes. ok someone other than landen. ;)}

and a big girl bed! we bought this a few months ago but finally got soph to sleep in it at night. basically i ripped off the front railing of her crib and said, "pick one." she picked the bed... good choice. the funny thing is, she can't open the doors in our house, so it really hasn't been much different than the crib. except for that shaking door every morning at 7:30...
my favorite is our new singing routine that came with the bed. we do "turtle, frog, duck, popcorn, and pi-do (spider)" every night because they have actions. try and guess what those songs are!

(still sucking her thumb)

i can't believe my baby is turning TWO next week! a couple things i'd like to freeze and remember about her right now...

-she is sitting next to me in her diaper right now eating her teddy grahams in the "boo" bowl she had to pick out from her drawer. every time i look at her she puts her cheek on my shoulder and shrugs and smiles like, "yeah i love ya mom" with a giggle.

-she has decided she doesn't need praise from us anymore and just gives it to herself when she does something noteworthy. like when she's done with her drink she'll go put it on her high chair tray and say, "good job!" and walk away.

-she has a MAJOR obsession with "seed-ya" right now. aka cereal or cheerios {i think she thinks they are the same thing because it's the only kind she ever wants}. she wants it in her pink bowl with "meek" (milk) and a "poon" (spoon), that she can blindly get by reaching over the top of the utensil drawer, for every meal. i guess she's lowering her cholesterol right?

-if you ask her, "do you want one?" she'll usually answer "two."

-she loves counting everything. it's in order if she feels like it but it's my particular favorite if it's NOT. like counting fish in a store the other day, "two, nine, nine, seden."

-last week instead of saying "NO" to everything she decided to start saying "no pees" {please} instead. FINE BY ME. and no i didn't teach her that one.

-i guess i always say "mmm hmmm" under my breath because she tried to start doing it under hers when i ask her to do something. although it usually comes out her nose.

-every morning she wants to put make-up and bracelets on with me. we usually have like 7 excessive pieces of jewelry when we leave the house. either that or her "HOOD!" must be on. can you tell we live in the land of coldness?

we've had a really hard past couple of weeks with this whole turning two business. ANYTHING public is a complete struggling-breakdown-screaming-hitting-fit throwing-nightmare. i kid you not. i'm starting to get anxiety about just running to target. there have been lots of tears from both of us (probably my hormones talking) and some major time-out taking (by both of us). this gets better right? i just need to keep reminding myself of these good things that i love about her because i really do love being a mama. bring on baby #2 right!?

That's exciting that you got your Mother's Day gift early :) Sophie is so darn cute!! I love the way they says words! It's so cute!! Hayden will be 2 in July and he is starting to throw tantrums every where we go too. We can't even take him out to eat anymore because everyone stares at our screaming child :) Hopefully it will get better!

Kri...I hate to break it to you but the only thing that changes is that they get even more smart (in all kinds of ways) Now if Maddie knows she isn't supposed to do something she tells me that she is just going to sneak. I'm like Thanks for the warning.

I feel your anxiety over temper tantrum pain. As for it getting better, I loved age 3 with Aiden.
