last week we had one of those days that made us feel like we could endure this rotten, unforgiving winter. it was a balmy 59 degree day and just right for a little tent making/sidewalk chalking. yes i know what you're thinking... tent making seems like a winter day activity. but we had to save up our energy {and one-year-old attention spans} for the warmest part of the day spent outside. which of course is after a good afternoon nap. so the morning was spent in our tent.

the set up {below}. one of sophie's favorite pastimes is climbing on the ottomon and jumping onto the couch or lovesac, so when she saw this new set up i'm sure she was thinking, "cool! a new blanket to jump into." well she did... climb on the ottoman and jump into the sheet i mean. the floor was a rude awakening and i had to keep from laughing while our tent crashed in around her. easily fixed with some coloring.

finally we did make it outside. and a day without a coat is paradise my friend.

don't you love how she filled in my circles with her own masterpieces? i think her mark was my favorite part. {and notice how nasty our pavement looks now thanks to all the snow and salt}

thank you day. you were exactly what we needed.

That's funny. I think we have the same Ottoman as you and it's one of Hyrum's favorite toys. I can't wait for outside time.
