glimpse {8.8.08}

just sitting here with landen on the lovesac (yes we are both nerdies on our laptops) watching the opening ceremony! so awesome! we can't get over how amazing chinese formations, performers, and visions are! i think i've been a little inspired by the "harmony" theme. and i can't wait to watch these olympic games! i love LOVE the olympics! such a cool day 8.8.08. just had to type it one more time. ;D
our other favorite part of the olympics is listening to the french pronounce everything first. as long as it ends sounding like "eee" it sounds french. love it! so i'm dying to know what your fav. summer olympic sport is? i have a really hard time deciding mine... but gymnastics is definitely near the top!
and just a little glimpse into the tutts day of 8.8.08. the day started off with the biggest poop explosion to date we've ever seen come out of little soph. guess she's not so little anymore. don't worry i won't show you pics of that episode. but it was followed by some excellent cheesey scrambled eggs and strawberry smoothies. soph was lovin that smoothie mustache!

she *officially* climbs on everything now. her fav:
the lOveSaC
straight to the top to bang on the wall. oh dear.
gotta do a little loungin after all that climbing!
i guess this is how i felt about it all. sprawled out in my usual
"ready to capture"
position on the floor.

it was a good day. filled with lots of landen time (we are loving this "easing back into school" stuff). we paroused the aisles of costco. literally... don't you love those samples?! landen fell in love for the 88th time with his 42" flat screen he has been saving for. bought too much (not the tv). climbed lots of stairs (sophie's other favorite pastime). did a little home organizing. and had our pizza friday night. which brings me to my last picture. notice that little
grouping of pepperonis
circled on the bottom of her tray? landen and i didn't do that. we found that before she ate her food. guess someone knows what she wants and doesn't want now? love her.

and i just realized sophie has been nakie in a lot of her pictures lately. sorry folks... guess you can feel the aura of laziness around our house! that's all for 8.8.08!

That's so funny. Brett and I are sitting on the love-seat watching the opening ceremonies with our laptops out too. I finally had to just promise Brett that I'd stop saying 'thats AMAZING!!' every two seconds.

oh gosh the opening ceremonies were amazing! we sat on our couch for like 5 hours last night...in awe. i too love hearing the french (i LOVE anything french)...i probably got annoying last night being like "trav, did you hear them say that?" it was definitely a moment in history that we got to be part of! by the way...my grandpa's birthday was 8.8.08...cool huh? of course, 1908. so he was 100 years old yesterday (but he's in heaven....).

Yay! we had to DVR the opening ceremonies and watch them later...but they were amazing! I can't pick a fav event. Gymnastics is definitely at the top for me, too, but so is swimming, diving, track, and beach volleyball. And, it just so happens that we picked up a 42" Plasma TV at Best Buy last week. Derek has been saving for it for a long time, too. I was resisting it for a long time, but I have to say it is pretty nice to watch.

We don't mind naked babies! =) But for the love of all that is digital, please, PLEASE don't buy a TV from Costco if you can at all help it! It's true they have the best prices (or so it seems), but that's only because they have contracts with these big companies to get specific-only-to-Costco models that have inferior, well, everything! For more specifics, (and prices your cousins can get for you), shoot us an email some time. OK, enough soap box. Back to the games! (Gymnastics and diving are my favs)

Loved the opening ceremonies! Glad we're not the only olympic loving geeks around. Today we watched some symchronized diving. I don't know if it's my favorite, but dang, they are good!

I love, love, LOVE the Olympics. This year it's a family event. Chris makes the snacks, I cheer the loudest, and Savanna becomes one with the team. Go USA! {by become one, I mean she copies ALL the moves she can and ends with "ta-da"}
