we camped.

we did it. we went camping with a one year old. and it was actually the first time we've ever camped together. i can't say that i'll be doing it again next week, but we'll definitely try it again in the future. maybe when soph's not delirious and sick... who knows?

{see that goldfish box between us? sophie hid my cell phone in it the other day. sorry if anyone was trying to get ahold of me... finally found it burried in goldfish in the cupboard.}
we went with our good friends liz & travis, and jennie & dustin came up for dinner. {see liz's blog for more pics and the wrastlin match cal & soph had in our tent} speaking of tents, i'd like to point out the difference in size between the two families. calvin & sophie represent their own families. although you may think the quality of your night's sleep depends on the size of your tent... this is entirely false. the small tent family was actually snoring {surprisingly next to us} while the larger tent family was getting dressed at 2am, threatening to go home. case in point.

we definitely hit ALL the high points of eating every kind of junk food possible.
liz was our logger. she disappeared with the stroller and came back 20 minutes later with wood for our manly fire. supplied by the women, made by the men. {ok the only thing i did was buy wood at the grocery store, so liz wins} i wish this picture wasn't blury...
apparently best friends come in packages of THREE these days. the three little monkeys in their matching chairs...
and the three real friends who force their kids to like each other. ;)
despite the lack of sleep, we had so much fun planning, making food, eating food, settin up "camp", talking by the fire, eating smores, going on our "nature walk" to the "frog swamp" the next day {led by navigator travis}, and of course hitting up taco bell on the way home. so now we can officially say: "we camped."

Glad you survived. Camping with kids is craziness! By the way, Ruthie has that butterfly shirt that Soph's wearing from Target. We'll have to bring them to AZ.

I haven't checked out Liz's pics yet but the ones you got are so cute. The one in front of the tents and them in the chairs..so cute! That is smart of Jennie to just come for dinner. That's my idea of camping. You did it! You camped.

Good for you guys getting out in the woods. If we had time Jefferson and I would love to go camping each week and fishing. Looks like you guys had a blast. Camping is so exciting and very relaxing.

It looks like you guys had so much fun!! I totally had to laugh when I saw the camping chairs that you bought way back when we lived in King Henry in hopes that we would go camping...pretty sure the furthest we got was the tent in the family room! Haha. Your pictures are adorable--as always!

Sounds like you guys had fun...ish. We have plans to go camping later on in July. I'm not sure if I'm so excited for it.

that looks like tons of fun! we are thinking of camping for our anniversary at zion's...we'll see how it goes...but maybe camping with a 3 month old would be easier than a 1 year old? i just worry about the bugs!

This is completely off topic, but I want to hear what you think of The Host so far!
