i never knew it would feel this way to have a child have a birthday. sophie is an "age" now. it's amazing how much love you can have for one tiny person. i was sitting here thinking what was going on exactly one year ago today. and of course i had to go back and look through ALL the baby pictures and remember all the things i was feeling on may 16th. i guess it's only appropriate to take a walk down memory lane...such a proud daddy...
not a good picture of me, but this was the first time i heard her cry while i held her. i can remember thinking, "i have no idea what i'm doing." i instantly loved her.

Sophie, my memory of your day first day here on earth will forever be when I walked into the hospital room and saw you cradled in your proud daddy's arms and he handed you to me with a huge smile on his face. . . it was love at first sight! Time flies, like crazy, doesn't it? We were just watching some movies of Christian- from like Sept. or something....doesnt seem too long ago, yet he's grown up so much since then! What is happening to our babies??
