byu grads!

it's official! landen and i are graduates of byu! ok well technically landen has to finish his last two classes this spring semester but then he is done. as for me- i'm afraid that feeling of having to turn something in tomorrow isn't going to go away for awhile. it's so nice not to have to worry about that anymore though!

my dad and landen's family came up for the big event. it was so good to be able to spend time with all of them and have their support with graduation. my dad flew out from hawaii and brought lais with him for us to wear! he had quite the adventure going out to chicago and then back to salt lake carrying the lai box. he even kept it in a bakery fridge one day. but they were beautiful and i was excited to wear them! we stuffed ourselves at tucanos...yes twice (not on purpose) and i don't think i will ever be the same. landen and i decided we will not be going back there before we leave provo! i loved having my dad here to hang out with and talk to. i don't get a lot of "dad" time anymore! he helped me fix up my bug to get ready to sell which was so nice! i was a little worried what i was going to do. what would we do without dads!

we got some super nice graduation presents from all of our family. (i guess studying and test taking does have its perks after four years!) i got a sewing machine which i'm super excited about using! plus my mom will be here in 2 weeks to really show me how to use it. landen got a new nice watch from my parents which i am excited about so i no longer have to tell him what time it is! and landen's parents got us a new laptop which i'm using right now... and i love!! it is so nice- i'm loving windows vista. i think i just had a lot of time this weekend to reflect on how grateful i am for the families we both have. we are very blessed to have the support from parents, siblings, and extended family. it makes me excited to be a mom so i can truly understand to sacrifice and give everything for my family and kids just like my parents have. and i'm ultimately excited to go through everything with landen- he's going to be the best dad!

we also went to our friend bubba's sealing and reception on saturday. i love being in the temple and it made me realize one of the perks of being the oldest in my family. i will get to go to all of my sibling's weddings- which i am very excited for! we got to see our friends dj & libby who are in pittsburgh at dental school right now. we miss having them here with us!
